TRENZ Homes Client Testimonials

After having owned an engineering Company for over twenty years now and having always had an interest in property investing I decided the time felt right to do some investigating and I purchased a section in Papamoa, Bay of Plenty. So now it was time to find a company that I trusted and would fit in with my plans, what I found was most companies don’t allow you to use your own tradesmen or change standard plans without hefty fees. After having been recommended to try TRENZ Homes by a friend I was extremely happy when we came up with a modified plan to suit the section better and using a combination of my own and TRENZ Homes tradesmen to get the job done. Aaron also had a lot of good ideas and knowledge on property investing as he is an investor himself. I will definitely be planning another project with Aaron and TRENZ Homes.

Living in Sydney – and contemplating building an extension house on our current holiday home site in Taupo did cause me concern. Do I move back to NZ to oversee this project – who can I trust? With some reservation I got the ball rolling and with responses from a couple of Companies Aaron Sheely from TRENZ stood out way above anyone else I had put feelers out to. From the very onset of dealing with him I found him very attentive and nothing would be in the too hard box. Aaron was so easy to work with – responding to every question or concern straight away and in a professional manner…( all via email or over the phone.) I was at ease that he could deliver and would oversee the full project from visiting the site, drawing up of the plans, the council permit etc, the complete build to the painting. He has been attentive on every matter and went the extra mile to ensure that the process of building the new house ran smoothly under his watchful eye with not a flaw being ignored. I have been back to NZ twice during the build and have seen the house completed – I am so happy with my new house - very impressed with the level of workmanship, the quality of all the products TRENZ use. Most of all the service and attention I received from Aaron – I would thoroughly recommend TRENZ Homes.

Over the last 18 months Mike has helped up design and build of our new Waihi Beach home. The site we started with was steep with a small building footprint requiring engineering, which meant other construction companies we approached were not prepared to face the challenges of our project.

Mike showed us a number of plans and arranged a visit to a home he had recently completed which he felt may be similar to what we had in mind. Seeing the finished product helped us design exactly what we needed, so choosing TRENZ through Mike was an easy decision. Plans were drawn up, and after some changes the site work began with a local builder and tradesmen sourced through Mike. This arrangement suited us very well as both my wife and I are busy professionals without the expertise to know who was needed on site when, and what materials needed to be sourced to keep the building programme efficient and on target.

Along the way we were able to make some changes, which is not an easy ask in the strict building compliance environment, and have ended up with much more home than we had originally intended, which has already been used by family for beach holidays.

Mike and his team have been approachable and ready to please throughout and he is very welcome to bring prospective clients through our home to show what can be achieved with him project managing his TRENZ home builds.

We were novice to the whole build process and what was involved, however Neil at TRENZ made the whole process much easier and went beyond the call of duty to ensure that we understand what was happening at each stage.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank the Joe Love Builders team, there workmanship is top quality and have the personality to match - we totally love our TRENZ Home and we are glad to show any potential TRENZ clients through our home so that you can see why they are number one in the house industry! Keep up the great work.

Hi Phil,

This e-mail is to thank you and the team at TRENZ Homes. We will pour the concrete drive and paths tomorrow and then a few minor tidy up jobs and the project is completed on time (very tight schedule ) and on budget.

You will be impressed with the quality of the finish and how the house takes advantage of the relatively difficult site.

Gareth was great and his QS was spot on with enough generosity to take the stress out off the job. My builder Kevin Pyle is old school, fastidious and proud of his workmanship. He initially freaked-out when I told him I was building a kitset. He imagined a huge Meccano set with lots off numbered pieces. In reality you do not provided Kit-Set homes, you provide package homes that are cost effective because of your design, systems control and because off your purchasing power.

We recently signed up with TRENZ to build and project manage the building of our new family town pad. My husband is a great builder himself but given that we were out of the country for the entire build we were happy to give TRENZ the job with the expectation that we would receive a great service and product. We were not disappointed! Our only hold up was Council, the builders and TRENZ team were on board the entire project to get the result we were after in a timely manner. We are more than happy to recommend the TRENZ team to anyone looking at building their new home.

Dear Selena and John (and the TRENZ Homes team),
This is just a quick note to thank you for the diligent and professional service you have provided to us.

Our project was a bit unusual (building on remote Stewart Island from concept images yet to be converted to working drawings) but you made the process easy and enjoyable.

Your team was committed to the project from start to finish and we are very grateful for all your work. There were always going to be logistical complications with the build but you remained flexible and proactive through the process. Our bach (or crib as they say in the far south) was completed on time and within budget.

We couldn’t be more happy with the finished product. We have no hesitation is providing a reference recommending your firm.

We wish you all the best in the future. We have no doubt you will be successful.

Warmest regards,
Sam and Rebecca Guest.

Working with Nicky from TRENZ Homes was a hassle free experience. TRENZ Homes were very accommodating on the plans, costs were clear from the start of the build and any variation was clearly communicated before the spend was committed. When something wasn’t in stock we often got the higher spec product for no extra cost. Nicky has great attention to deal, is well organised and has exceptional project management skills and was always friendly to deal with and I always felt well communicated with. The outcome was a beautiful beach bach to enjoy.

Hi Nicky,

We looked at all kinds of options for house building as and as a result have dealt with a whole range of companies, I can honestly say though that none of them even came close to delivering the level of customer service you personally did. Please feel free to pass this on to your boss as I think you must be a great asset to your team. Getting info out of some companies has been incredibly difficult and there has been NO follow up with any of them except yours.

After 17 years ownership of a narrow, steep and extremely difficult coastal section, we were finally in a position to build a holiday home in 2011. Being Auckland based and novice house builders, we approached several kitset home companies (including TRENZ Homes) believing this would be the best way for us to go. TRENZ was the only company that followed up on our initial enquiry. The others we suspect were not interested, in large part due to the difficulties our site presented. TRENZ Homes just took it all in their stride, regularly assuring us they were steep site specialists. They also allowed us to go outside the standard kitsets available and worked collaboratively with us on a design that suited our tastes and budget, as well as the site.

Initially we planned to build on a lower platform that had already been cut and leveled by previous owners, believing this to be the only accessible part of our property. We were well on the way to progressing the final design of the house when it became apparent that Council constraints meant a smaller house than we wanted. At that stage, Neil Croft from TRENZ came back on site and duly disappeared up a steep bank covered in native bush to view the top of our section. Emerging a short time later, he announced somewhat to our surprise that yes, he could get his machinery up the bank to create a building platform at the top where the section widened and the views were vastly superior.

Throughout the construction, both Neil and the builder’s ‘can do, will do’ attitude has meant that we have been able to maximize on the size of the house, capitalize on the amazing views from the top platform and leave the lower platform for much needed parking. Nothing has been too much trouble or too difficult for either Neil or Joe Love, the builder organized for us by TRENZ Homes.

However, I am sure that at times the site has been more than a little daunting, not least being access issues getting materials up to the site. But at no time have we heard the words “it can’t be done”. Neil, Joe, John Smith and the team at TRENZ Homes have delivered on all their promises and endeavored to make the whole process as easy and as cost effective as possible for us. We would happily recommend them to others considering building a home - especially those with a difficult site!

Dear Kate,

'We are very happy with TRENZ Homes, in fact we are about to start our third house with them. The first 2 couldn't have gone smoother and as a development company providing quality housing with flexibility in design and simplicity in process and of course great value for money kitset homes are a 1 stop shop.

Thanks again!

We are so happy with the end result & have had lots of people asking us who we got the house through, we have recommended you guys to others because you guys were so good to deal with, you were great to keep in contact with which made things so much easier, it's not easy from over here, can't just go down the road & buy things or compare products etc.

Many thanks again for all your help.

We have renovated a few houses over the years but never built a new home and the whole building process seemed a bit daunting. We looked at a variety of companies and what they were all providing. We had stacks of mail sent to us with loads of ideas about things like cladding, roofing, wall linings, colour schemes, you name it we looked at it. There are lots of things you will need to decide on but one thing that is critical before you do anything is - who do you use for your kit set company? And then, can you trust them to deliver the goods? I mean, can you trust them with your hard earned (or hard borrowed) money? Because you will need to put your money up front.

I have been a Police officer for 15 years and believe me I have seen, through my work, the good, the bad and the really ugly when it comes to people and money. If you're building a house then you will probably be making the biggest financial investment in your life and as a Cop I wanted someone that I could trust with my investment. To me that was the number one concern because if the company could be trusted with my money then every thing else would work out.

John Smith and his team at TRENZ Homes New Zealand are honest, straight up people who deliver what they promise. From the building consent stage through to the fitting of the wardrobes and door handles

John and his team made it easy.

I guess the final test of any company you’ve worked with is, would you use with them again?

Answer: If or when we build again John Smith and TRENZ Homes New Zealand will be the only ones I will be calling – I would not build with anyone else.

I wholeheartedly recommend TRENZ Homes to anyone who is thinking about contracting them to supply and build a house or holiday home. TRENZ Home's sales manager Perry Bishara has been outstanding from our initial discussions right through to continuing after sales service and support.

I live overseas and have only met Perry on the one occasion. Perry and the TRENZ team (including the building contractor Grant Marwick) managed every aspect of the project. I am sure Perry got sick of my endless stream of emails from abroad. However, testimony to his professionalism, Perry kept me well informed of progress and any issues that seemed likely to arise. With TRENZ Homes rest assured you will be well taken care of by a group of professionals who really know their stuff.

Many thanks Perry and everyone at TRENZ.

I bought a 2 bedroom house (to the lock up stage) from TRENZ Homes

My plans changed from the standard kh272, and I got a little carried away with the deck, but TRENZ homes just took it in their stride, they re-drew plans to my specifications, got the necessary engineering signoff, and made the whole council process easy.

One thing you notice in the building trade is the difficulty of getting hold of people and the list of imaginative excuses once you do, so I was a little apprehensive that I was dealing with a company 250 km away, I shouldn’t have been. TRENZ homes always answered the phone and were happy to help.

All my dealings with TRENZ were via the internet/email/phone!! I’ve never met Perry or John, (or the courteous admin staff) and it couldn’t have gone smoother!!

The deliveries arrived as per the plan and when they said it would, and I’m talking to the hour!

I’ll definitely build another Kitset home, and TRENZ Homes and Kitset Homes will have business that too.

We just had our first Christmas at the bach and it is great.

All the plans worked very well and from what I have heard the builder found it worked well for him too. Any issues he had were quickly sorted by Nicky and John at the TRENZ Office.

Apart from a couple of phone calls all communications were via email. Nicky and the team at TRENZ worked through the kitset and building consent process with us, and supported the builder during the build. The support kept going and didn’t just stop the minute we signed the kitset agreement.

We are pleased with the result and would recommend TRENZ Homes.
